The Prophetic

The Church of Jesus Christ is supposed to be a prophetic church, one that hears the Word of God and immediately responds and obeys. 

{John 10:27} … My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me

God is raising a prophetic people who will apostolically carry the gospel of the kingdom to the ends of the earth. At the City of Refuge, we are establishing a prophetic culture, a healthy church that hears the voice of God with clarity, a church on the front lines; a company of Prophets, a people equipped, bold, and firm about what God is saying and what the Spirit is doing in this season. Come join us as we train and grow in the prophetic, equipping and releasing a prophetic people that will impact the kingdom of God in the city, the state, and the nations.

The prophetic is a witness that the Lord is present and functioning in a church through His Spirit Who He sent.

{Revelation 19:10} … Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” 

The Bible is clear that all Christians are to prophesy. We are to seek to develop and move in all the gifts the Holy Spirit has given us, but especially to prophesy.

{1 Corinthians 14:1} … Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

{1 Corinthians 14:39} … Therefore, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues.

Prophecy is a vital and powerful spiritual gift that always encourages, strengthens, and comforts us so we can continue to move forward in the kingdom.

{1 Corinthians 14:3} … But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation.

The prophetic lifestyle should be embraced and become an important part of church life and culture, both inside and outside the four walls of the church.

{Acts 2:17-18} … ‘And it shall be in the last days,’ God says, ‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on My bondslaves, both men and women, I will in those days pour forth of My Spirit and they shall prophesy.'
