Marriage Ministry 

Marriage is important to God. Healthy marriages obviously are obviously also important to our own spiritual health, but they are also important because of what marriage points to, the holy union between Christ and his church. In Ephesians 5, Paul calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved his bride (Ephesians 5:22–33). Our marriages illustrate the gospel we preach. Marriage is filled with the potential for discovering and revealing Christ’s character. It can become a doorway to a closer walk with God and one of the foremost forms of evangelism.

At the City of Refuge, we provide pastoral care through our Pastor Elders to all marriages in need. As part of church life, we also emphasize and teach how to build better marriages. Periodically we also offer Companions-in-Covenant, a 12-week homegroup facilitated by Pastor Elder Victor A. Casillas and his wife Gloria, who oversee our marriage ministries. The group is designed for couples at every stage of growth or maturity to understand the basics of marriage as a covenant and to be biblically equipped to overcome any current issues and grow into a powerful testament of the grace of God in your one-flesh relationship.
